About Master Marcus Soares:
Marcus Soares is a 9th-degree Red Belt, the highest rank in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and the only Grandmaster in Canada. A pioneer of BJJ in North America, he was the first black belt to teach Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in Canada when he arrived in 1996. With over five decades of experience, he has trained world-class fighters and is widely known as the "Father of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in Canada".
